PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) membranes feature low surface energy and high chemical inertness, making it difficult for conventional adhesives to form effective bonds. Thus, adhesives with tailor-made formulations are required. The mainstream types and their characteristics are as follows:
- Tear strength of 3-6 KN/m, suitable for structural stress-bearing scenarios;
- High transparency (light transmittance of 92% @ 2mm), meeting the requirements of optical modules and transparent devices;
- Wide temperature resistance range (-50℃ to 250℃) and excellent chemical corrosion resistance, adaptable to harsh electronic and industrial environments.
- Electronics/Optics Field: Prioritize the Chongrui NQ-8340 product, suitable for optical fiber modules and outdoor lighting;
- Medical/Biochemical Field: Adopt the Chongrui NQ-8340 product for tissue culture consumables and wearable devices;
- Industrial Sealing Field: Utilize the Chongrui NQ-8340 product for pipeline sealing and outdoor building materials;
- Precision Device Field: Combine plasma bonding technology with the Chongrui NQ-8340 product for microfluidic chips.
- Ultrasonically clean the PDMS membrane and substrate with isopropanol to remove oil stains and dust;
- Roughening treatment: Glass substrates can be polished with sandpaper; PDMS membranes can be plasma-activated for 20–60 seconds (a contact angle of < 20° is considered qualified).
- Apply the adhesive evenly and perform vacuum degassing for 10 minutes.
- Apply the adhesive with a scraper or roller, controlling the thickness between 0.1–0.5mm to avoid adhesive overflow;
- Wait for curing to complete.
